The tenant was accused of indiscriminate “sexual activity.’’
A Nigerian man has been served a “Quit Notice’’ for his “act of prostitution in which several girls are brought to the apartment,’’ the notice said. The document which has gone viral in the Nigerian internet space has generated a lot of reactions. While some see it as hilarious, others questioned the right of the landlord to infringe on the privacy of his tenant.

When our field team quizzed Fashola Emmanuel, a tenant in the Lagos Mainland area of Surulere about his opinion on the issue, he said: “I do not think womanizing is good enough reason for asking a tenant to vacate an apartment, it is a free world, and we should live free.”
While Emmanuel is against the landlord’s move, Segun Akintola who recides in the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State agrees with the decision of the landlord saying: “Let us call a spade a spade, bad is bad. I cannot allow you to live in a house I built with my money and stain it fornication, I am a religious person, and it is bad. I will give you a notice like the house owner did.’’
In a bid to balance the argument, our team reached out to a landlord who refused to be named but will be tagged Okeleji for this article. Okeleji said it “depends on the landlord involved. My kind of person might not have a problem with it, but another person will. It is about individual differences, any decision the landlord decides to take does not make him a good or bad person, it is about the personality involved like I said.’’
