Atiku believes the Delta State governor possess ‘presidential qualities.’
Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, has picked Delta state governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate in the 2023 Nigeria presidential elections.
The former Nigerian vice president made his choice on the morning of Thursday, June 16, 2022 after looking through a list of three nominees (Nyesom Wike, Ifeanyi Okowa, and Emmanuel Odom) presented to him by the National Working Committee of the PDP.
Atiku who contested for the presidential post in 2019 stated that his choice of Okowa lies in the fact that he believes that the Delta state governor possess “presidential qualities.’’
The choice of Atiku’s running mate comes as a surprise to many after rumours made the rounds that Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike had been chosen to run alongside the party’s candidate.
