Anikulapo film director, Kunle Afolayan, disclosed that plans are underway for a spin-off series.
Nollywood hit film, Anikulapo, will be developed into series as revealed by director, Kunle Afolayan. Since its debut on September 30, 2022, Anikulapo has thrilled viewers and earned Afolayan more credits.
During an Instagram live chat with cast members of the Netflix film, Afolayan revealed that the film was originally created to be a series, but had to do an audience test with the first production which stars British-Nigerian actor, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Kunle Remi, Bimbo Ademoye, Sola Sobowale, and more.
Anikulapo which has maintained an impressive top 10 ranking in over five countries such as the United Kingdom, Nigeria, the Bahamas, and Kenya, is set in the ancient Oyo Empire. It tells the story of Saro, an ambitious young in quest for fame and fortune.
