During a performance of “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa was seen smoking marijuana onstage in Romania.
U.S. rapper Wiz Khalifa could receive a nine-month prison term in Romania following a marijuana-related violation, although his attorneys are working to reverse the decision.
On Thursday, December 18, Romania’s Constanța Court of Appeal approved an appeal submitted by DIICOT Constanța Territorial Service, a state prosecution office, requesting imprisonment for the artist.
This decision overrides a previous ruling that had imposed a fine of approximately 3,000 lei (roughly $700).
Sources with knowledge of the matter indicate the ruling hasn’t reached finality, as Wiz Khalifa’s lawyers have initiated an appeal procedure aimed at obtaining a different result.

The charges originated from a July 2024 incident when authorities arrested and temporarily held the rapper following his performance at the Beach Please Festival in Costinești.
During his set, he was observed consuming marijuana onstage while performing to “The Next Episode” by Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg.
Romanian officials subsequently prosecuted him under the nation’s stringent narcotics legislation, which prohibits cannabis possession and consumption.
Legal experts point out that Romania enforces severe punishments for drug-related violations, which may complicate the appeals procedure.
