Tanzania‘s Jihan Dimack has made history after emerging as the winner of Miss Grand International 2026, becoming the first African woman to claim the title since the competition was established.
The 30-year-old beauty queen was crowned on Saturday, October 10, 2026, during the grand finale held at MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand, where she competed against 79 other contestants from around the world.
Dimack’s victory marked a significant milestone for Tanzania and the African continent, breaking years of dominance by contestants from other regions.
She received the crown from outgoing Miss Grand International 2025, Emma Mary Tiglao of the Philippines, bringing an end to the country’s hopes of securing a third consecutive title.
During the competition, Dimack impressed judges with her confidence, elegance, and thoughtful responses to questions addressing important global issues.
In the question-and-answer segment, she emphasised the importance of love, kindness, and unity in overcoming inequality and building a more peaceful world.

Her journey to international recognition began several years ago.
Born into a Tanzanian-Lebanese family, Dimack started modelling at 17 and previously represented Tanzania at Miss Universe 2016.
