Jay-Jay Okocha and his wife celebrate their wedding anniversary
Former captain of the Nigerian Super Eagles team and ex-footballer, Austin Azuka Okocha, popularly known as Jay-Jay Okocha celebrates his 24th wedding anniversary with his wife, Nkechi on Monday, January 3rd, 2022.
In a photo shared on his official Instagram handle, @official-jj10, the ex-footballer shared a picture of himself and his wife with the caption “It’s our Anniversary today, we give God the glory, Dorime all the way”.
Jay-Jay Okocha and his wife got married in 1998 and their union is blessed with two children, Daniella Okocha and Ajay Okocha.

During his playing career, both at the national team and club level, Jay-Jay Okocha was one of the fans’ favorite. He was part of the golden Nigeria Super Eagles team that qualified Nigeria for the first FIFA World Cup in 1994. The team also won the African Cup of Nations organized earlier that year.
The ex-national team captain hails from Enugu state and he was not the only footballer in his family. His brother was also a professional footballer, but Jay-Jay became the toast of the national team with his dribbling skills, pass, and free kicks. His football career abroad took him to Germany, where he played in Frankfurt, England, where he played for Bolton Wanderers and Hull City, France, where he played for PSG, Turkey, where he played for Fernabache and Qatar before he retired in 2008.
According to Jay-Jay Okocha, he started playing football with anything in a round shape that he could find around. “Whenever we managed to get hold of a ball, it was a bonus”. He played for Enugu Rangers before he proceeded abroad. At the national team, he made 73 appearances, scoring 14 goals before from national team duties in 2006.
