The Nigerian music act is in a quest to fulfil his motherโs wish.
Young Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema has revealed that he is furthering his education after he gained admission into the University of Lagos.
In a tweet on Friday, 7th January 2022, Rema revealed that he has gained admission into an undergraduate program in the University of Lagos to fulfil his motherโs wish.
In his tweet: โWhat if I told yโall I got an admission into UNILAG? LOL Mom said I still need to get a degree sigh, oh well see you guys in class!โ
The award-winning music star revealed his course of study and also showed enthusiasm about going to school again, knowing the kind of fame and influence he has gained.
โFresher no mean say I no go relate with final year o, if you donโt gerrit, forgAboutit,โ the tweet read.
Also, the singer said he would drop his new album before resuming on campus for his undergraduate program and he would not want to infuriate his UNILAG fans.
โI will try to drop the album before I enter school. So theyโll not beat me in UNILAG. Plus, Iโm in the Creative Art Department,โ Rema revealed.
The young artist who hails from Edo State caught the attention of DโPrince in 2018. He was subsequently signed into Jonzin World, a subsidiary of Don Jazzyโs Mavin Records the same year. He rose to prominence with his single โIron Manโ and he released his self-titled EP in 2019.
Rema joined the list of other Nigerian music stars, such as Davido, Korede Bello, Banky W, and many others who had gone back to school to further their education. Remaโs admission into the University of Lagos has, however, generated many reactions online, with many fans wishing him well in his new adventure.
