Seif al-Islam Gadhafi, son of Libya’s former leader Muammar Gaddafi, has died in Zintan.
Authorities have not disclosed details about how he died, though reports from local media indicate armed men killed him at his residence.

His father, Muammar Gaddafi, ruled for over 40 years before being ousted in 2011 during a popular revolt supported by NATO.
Muammar Gadhafi died that same year during the subsequent violence that escalated into civil war.
Seif al-Islam was apprehended while trying to escape to Niger.
After his release by the fighters in June 2017, he remained in Zintan.
In 2015, a Libyan court found him guilty of inciting violence and murdering protesters, imposing a death sentence in absentia. He also faced charges from the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity connected to the 2011 uprising.
