Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that the chances of French football giants, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), winning the UEFA Champions League is not certain. Ronaldo who joined Manchester United from Juventus during the summer transfer window is of the opinion that winning the highest European club competition is not about having the best footballers in a team, citing that he spent close to five seasons at Madrid without winning the trophy despite being among a star-studded squad.
Despite the presence of stars like Lionel Messi, Neymar, Ramos, Mbappe, Di Maria, and more in the PSG squad, the Portuguese national team captain believes that it is too early to name the favourites for the title.
“It is still too early to say who will win the Champions League. The picture begins to take shape at the quarter-final stage. Paris Saint-Germain are in pole position, but it’s one thing to talk and another to play. There are many factors that influence the outcome on the pitch. I played for Real Madrid for almost five seasons, in the team of the Galacticos, and I never won the Champions League. Winning is never automatic, even if you have the best players in your team, and that also applies to PSG.”
