The billionaire daughter says she strives hard not to depend on family wealth.
Nigerian musician and disc jockey DJ Cuppy has lent her voice to the debate of men having control over women. The “Gelato’’ crooner stated that no man would ever have the power to control her and opined that every woman must strive to be independent financially.
Cuppy who voiced her opinion during a chat with Zeze Millz on the ZEZE MILLZ SHOW said most people describe her as a bluff when she airs her opinion, leaving her totally stunned because she works very hard not to depend on her father’s wealth.
“When I say to people, I’m so pro-women having their own money. People are like “Come on Cuppy, shut up! Your dad is wealthy. But if my dad was really someone I depend on, why do I work so hard?”
DJ Cuppy is daughter to Nigerian billionaire and one of Africa’s wealthiest men Femi Otedola who commands an estimated net worth of $5.9 billion, but she revealed that she prefers to work hard, earn her own money, and be able to make her decisions independently.
“Same way you don’t wanna be controlled by men, I also don’t wanna be controlled by my dad. I don’t! I wanna be able to say I’m doing this,” she enthused.
