Davido added the sum of 50 million naira to the 200 million naira raised and gifted to orphanages across Nigeria.
Ahead of his 29th birthday celebration on Sunday, November 21, 2021, superstar musician Davido has donated the sum of 250 million naira to orphanages across Nigeria.
Davido has trended all week on the Nigerian internet space after asking friends and loyalists to donate the sum of 1 million naira each for his birthday celebration. High profile personalities such as billionaire businessman Femi Ortedola, night life king Obi Cubana, footballers Alex Iwobi, Asisat Oshoala, Obafemi Martins, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, and friends of the ‘Fem’ crooner from diverse works of life sent in money to show their love and admiration for the multi-award winning artist.
As the sum kept increasing, the public shared diverse opinions about how they think Davido should use the funds, but he had better plans.
On Saturday, November 20, Davido in a public statement on his social media platforms titled “DONATION OF NGN 250,000,000.00 TO ORPHANAGES ACROSS NIGERIA,” broke the internet for his show of kindness.
Davido expressed gratitude to his “friends, colleagues, fans, and the public for the generous expressions of love in recent days.’’
“I have always been passionate about giving back and helping people. In view of this, I am delighted to announce that all the funds received, totalling NGN 200,000,000.00, will be donated to orphanages across Nigeria as well as the Paroche Foundation,” part of the statement read.

To ensure transparency in the disbursement of funds, Davido set up a committee that will equally make public the names of orphanages enlisted and amounts they get.
Davido who turns 29 on Sunday has for over ten years dominated the Nigerian entertainment space with back to back hits.
