James is in the hospital after the acid attack
Jessie James suffered severe burns from the acid attack and is currently in the hospital receiving treatment as police continue the investigation.
Jessie James, a 21-year-old hairdresser in Trinidad and Tobago, is suffering severe pains after two women doused her with acid after accusing her of socializing with men that they knew.
The victim’s aunt, Galia Noel, narrated to the Guardian Media that one of the women booked an appointment to style her hair in Belmont.
According to the report, James reportedly met a woman who identified as a family relative of the person who booked the appointment and took her to a track where she was confronted.
During the confrontation, the women accused James of socializing with men they knew and poured two steaming cups of an unknown liquid on her before running away.
Noel noted that her niece screamed for help and was assisted by two women who rushed her to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
She further described the victim as a “gentle, soft soul” who did not deserve such treatment and disclosed that her “two eyes were affected as well as her lip and the softer parts of her face.”
“Her two eyes are bruised on the outside; she can’t open them for too long, but when she does, you can see how the eyes are bulging; they are both very red.
“She can see in one eye, but it’s a bit fuzzy, but she can’t see through the other one at all.”
Noel further called out the attackers for hypocrisy and expressed disappointment at their actions towards another woman.
“Whoever did this is a hypocrite because they’re trying to damage another woman,” Noel said.
“Even if whatever they accused her of is true, they didn’t decide to have a civilized conversation; they attacked her in the most gruesome way because this could have been worse.”
