Thisara Weragalage initially denied stabbing his ex-wife/Wales News Service
A man has confessed to fatally st@bbing his ‘beautiful’ former wife in Wales.
Thisara Weragalage, 37, who was born in Sri Lanka, initially entered a not guilty plea to the k!lling of his ex-wife, Nirodha Niwunhella, 32, but subsequently changed his plea to guilty for murd£r.
Nirodha’s body was discovered positioned between two vehicles in the Riverside area of Cardiff, leaving local residents ‘shocked and saddened’ by the tragic incident that occurred on August 21 of last year.
Emergency medical personnel arrived at South Morgan Place at 7.37 am but could not revive Nirodha, who was declared de@d at the location.

Weragalage was taken into custody in relation to her de@th soon afterward, initially denying the murd£r charge.
Nevertheless, he subsequently admitted to carrying a knife on the day of the k!lling, and during his appearance at Newport Crown Court today, he entered a guilty plea to murd£r.
Judge Daniel Williams ordered Weragalage to remain in custody pending his sentencing scheduled for February 20.

After Nirodha’s de@th, her relatives issued a statement calling her a ‘cherished daughter, family member and dear friend to many’.
The tribute continued: ‘Nirodha will be forever remembered with peace, love, and gratitude.
‘She touched many lives with her kindness and warmth, and her memory will continue to inspire us.
‘Though her life ended too soon, the love she shared will always remain with us. Rest in peace angel.’
In a tribute, a resident from the area stated: ‘She was such a beautiful woman. This is such a tragic waste of a young life full of promise.’
A previous inquest held in Pontypridd revealed that Nirodha was located between two vehicles with severe injuries and was officially identified by an acquaintance.
Dr Stephen Leadbeatter, a pathologist, provided a preliminary cause of de@th as multiple sharp force injuries.
Area coroner Patricia Morgan stated there was grounds to believe her death was ‘violent or unnatural’.
The coroner ‘expressed her deepest condolences’ to the family and friends of Miss Niwunhella.
