Son of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Aminu YarAdua, has been charged to a Magistrate’s Court in Yola, Adamawa State, on Thursday, August 5, 2021, for putting 4 people to death.
Aminu, 36, was remanded in prison by the court for allegedly killing four people in a car crash in Yola.
Aminu, who is a student of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) Yola, was said to have killed 4 persons as a result of his dangerous driving on 23 June, 2021.
The police First Information Report (FIR) tendered in court by the prosecutor, Inspector Zakka Musa, has revealed that the accused had crushed six people as a result of over speeding, while driving along Yola bye pass on 23 June, 2021.
According to reports, four of the victims were killed while the other two were seriously injured.
The FIR noted:
“Those that died in the accident were identified as; Aisha Umar (30), Aisha Mamadu (32), Suleiman Abubakar(2) and Jummai Abubakar (30), while, Rejoice Annu (28) and Hajara Aliyu(27) sustained injuries.”
The families of the injured persons are reported to have demanded a compensation of N15 million from the defendant.
The case has been adjourned to 19th August, 2021, but until then, the magistrate has ordered that the late president’s son be remanded in prison custody.
