World football legend, Diego Armando Maradona was laid to rest on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at the Jardin Bella Vista cemetery, Bueno Aires, (same place his parents were buried) in a private ceremony which had his family and close friends in attendance. Fans in thousands, lined the streets of Argentina’s capital city (Buenos Aires) to pay their respect to the 1986 World Cup winner while his corpse was driven to the cemetery.

Argentineans packed the streets around the presidential palace where the former FC Barcelona star’s body lied in state, in thousands, while thousands more could not help by fill the highways to catch a glimpse of the motorcade escorting his corpse to the cemetery alongside the police.

His first wife, Claudia Villafane, 58, (divorced in 2004) is pictured by the legend’s daughters, Dalma 33, and Giannina, 31 as they wiped tears. Maradona is survived by five children alongside Villafane.
