Cardi B would face charges for assault and battery/Lionscrib
The rapper is being sued for assault and battery stemming from a 2018 confrontation.
Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B finds herself back in legal trouble following testimony given in court on Monday, where a female security guard alleged that the artist attacked her during a confrontational incident at a Los Angeles medical facility in 2018.
The security guard, Emani Ellis, claims that Cardi B — who was expecting her first child and four months pregnant at the time — allegedly spit on her, used racial epithets, made derogatory comments about her appearance, and inflicted a facial injury with her fingernail that resulted in a cut on her cheek.
Ellis testified that she had merely approached the musician with her phone while on duty at the obstetrics clinic, but this action reportedly enraged Cardi B, who suspected Ellis was attempting to publicize her confidential medical appointment.
“After she heard me say her name, she turned back around and the first thing out of her mouth was … ‘Why the f–k you telling people that you see me?,’” Ellis testified, adding that she tried to calm the rapper down but was met with more aggression.
The guard further alleged that Cardi B made threats about having her terminated from her position, disparaged her profession, and even tried to physically strike her — although the blow didn’t connect.

Ellis stated that she subsequently needed reconstructive surgery to address the facial wound inflicted by Cardi’s fingernails.
Ellis has filed a lawsuit against Cardi B seeking damages for assault and battery related to the 2018 incident.
Representatives for Cardi B have not yet issued a statement regarding these accusations.
