The #EndSARS front liner has revealed that she did not take asylum in Canada, contrary to media reports.
Popular Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Switch, who made the headlines after her Instalive video on October 20, 2020, showed Nigerian soldiers firing live ammunitions at innocent protesters at the Lekki toll gate during the peaceful #End SARS protests, has rubbished claims that she has been granted asylum in Canada.
DJ Switch whose real name is Obianuju Catherine Udeh, was hired by Peter Okoye as his personal DJ in 2017, but has been in hiding since October 2020 as the Buhari government began a massive clampdown on front liners of the #EndSARS campaign aimed at ending police brutality and reforming the country’s police force.
Reports had circulated in the Nigerian media that owing to fear for her life, DJ Switch had fled the country and taken asylum in Canada, but the humanitarian activist took to her Instastories to debunk media claims. She disclosed that she has been locked up in a house for months and did not step foot into Canada.
DJ Switch’s current location remains unknown.
