Davido Congratulates Soludo On Emergence As Anambra Governor

Global music act Davido has congratulated Professor Charles Soludo on his emergence as the Governor-elect of Anambra State in the recently concluded gubernatorial elections for the South-Eastern Nigerian State.

Soludo was announced winner of the election by Nigeria’s ruling electoral body INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission) on Wednesday after supplementary election was held in Ihiala on Tuesday. The former Central Bank of Nigeria governor vied under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), a political party with a stronghold in Anambra State.

Reacting to Soludo’s victory, Davido who has always been vocal about political issues and has made clear his intentions to venture into politics in the later part of his life said: “Congrats sir, it’s just simple, let votes count! Congrats to my Anambra people. Over to you, your excellency”

Soludo who is part of the Nigerian Presidential Economic Advisory Committee also got a congratulatory message from President Buhari who despite being of the Nigerian ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) expressed delight at the emergence of Soludo and urged the high profile economist to work hand in hand with the federal government towards tackling the security situation in Anambra State.
