Tems believes every Nigerian woman deserves accolades.
Singer Tems has hailed Nigerian women and described being a Nigerian woman as a “miracle.” The “Me & U” crooner heaped praise on Nigerian women during an interview with Kiss FM in London. She also said it is “tough” to be a Nigerian and hailed Nigerian women as “blessed.”
“Being a Nigerian woman is a miracle. Because being a Nigerian, for anybody, is tough. But I think if you can tap into your gifts and own who you are and be unapologetic about it, and take that to the world, that is an honour,’’ Tems said.
“I think Nigerian women are the most blessed. I won’t say the most blessed because everybody is blessed in equal manner but Nigerian women are very special to me. They are very dear to me and I believe that it is such a huge blessing to be a Nigerian woman and to be living in this time.”
Tems is one of the biggest singers around the globe. She won a Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance for her collaboration with Future and Drake, “Wait For U,” on February 5, 2023. She also won the Female MVP award during the Soundcity MVP Awards in 2023. Tems is also a BET Awards winner.
