Tinubu's economic policies have been harsh on Nigerians/Instagram @officialasiwajubat
President Bola Tinubu says his policies have been focused on the people of Nigeria.
As Nigerians lament the economic hardship caused by the policies of President Bola Tinubu, he has assured citizens that he is working hard to fix the economy and said that the past year has been challenging for every Nigerian.
President Tinubu marked his first year in office on May 29, 2024, amidst inflation, insecurity, a high unemployment rate, and more challenges confronting the country.
Nigeria’s economic woes were compounded when he announced during his inauguration speech that “subsidy is gone,” as the fuel price hike that followed led to inflation, which his economic team has failed to control.

Despite the hardship faced by citizens, Tinubu said that his policies were people-focused in Guzape District Lot II, Abuja, during the engineering infrastructure’s inauguration.
“It has been a very challenging time for us in the country. We are still retooling and rejigging our financial system to bring prosperity and relief to the people of this country,” Tinubu said.
He further said that “development that is focused on the people for economic prosperity and benefits is what we should pursue.”
Critics have questioned the economic moves of President Tinubu, such as the haste in awarding the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway.
The government’s donation of 90 billion naira for Islamic Hajj to Saudi Arabia has also been questioned on the basis that funds should be focused on welfare packages for citizens.
