Davido drops hints about when fans can expect his collaborative project with Chris Brown.
The joint album that fans of Davido and Chris Brown have been waiting for appears to be inching closer to reality.
During a recent interview, Afrobeats heavyweight Davido disclosed that his collaborative album with American music star Chris Brown is tentatively lined up for sometime in 2027.
While speaking with Martell’s Swift Conversations on the fringes of his Coachella 2026 Day 2 performance, the Afrobeats icon said: “There’s definitely more music. Me and Chris Brown got an album coming out hopefully at the end of next year.”
Davido has never hidden his admiration for Chris Brown, previously describing him as one of the greatest performers of his generation and noting that the two have recorded enough songs together to fill several albums.
Now, after nearly two years of dropping hints about a joint project, his latest comments suggest the wait may soon be over.
A Friendship Built on Hit Records
The musical chemistry between the two artists traces back to 2019, when they joined forces on the chart-topping single ‘Blow My Mind,’ released ahead of Davido’s album ‘A Good Time.’
That same year, Chris Brown returned the gesture by bringing Davido on board for ‘Lower Body,’ a track on his album ‘Indigo.’

The following year, Davido teamed up with Chris Brown and rapper Young Thug for ‘Shopping Spree,’ one of the standout singles from his third studio album ‘A Better Time.’
Two years on, the pair reunited for ‘Nobody Needs To Know,’ featured on Chris Brown’s 2022 offering ‘Breezy.’
Their collaboration hit a new peak in 2023 with ‘Sensational,’ which also featured Nigerian act Lojay.
The record marked both Davido and Lojay’s debut appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned recognition at the 2024 Grammy Awards with a nomination for Best African Song Performance.
Their most recent joint effort arrived in 2024 with the Afropop banger ‘Hmm,’ one of the highlights from Chris Brown’s album ’11:11.’
This rich catalogue of collaborations spanning Afrobeats, R&B, and Pop speaks to a creative partnership that has consistently delivered.
Their forthcoming joint album promises to be a defining moment for both artists and for Afrobeats as a genre on the global stage.
The prospect of a joint tour has also set fans buzzing at the thought of both superstars sharing a stage.
At present, Davido is midway through the European leg of his hugely successful 5ive Alive Tour, while Chris Brown recently announced a co-headlining tour alongside R&B legend Usher.
Before their 2027 collaborative album arrives, both artists are expected to drop solo projects.
Davido has hinted that his next album will reconnect with his Nigerian and African heritage, while Chris Brown has already set May 10 as the release date for his 12th studio album, ‘BROWN.’
