Portable/Leadership News
Portable shot to limelight in late 2021.
Nigerian music rave of the moment, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has disclosed that his energy is natural as he doesn’t do drugs.
He disclosed this in an interview with Jah Bless’ Original Intelligence while answering questions on whether he takes drugs or not.
“I am not on drugs, my energy is natural. I don’t drink. But I Zazoo (Smoke). I am a devout Muslim; I pray,” the fast-rising act said.
Portable also narrated his upbringing, background, and education.
In his words: “Music is business, you have to fight for your right. I was born In Sango Ota, grew up in Mushin. I have been doing music for ten years. I am educated but music didn’t make me collect my certificate. Music brought in money faster.”
He claimed that the hit single “ZazooZeh” is not his first track as he has many songs online. “Zazoo is a freestyle. I have over 400 songs online but it is one song that will bring you glory,” the artist said.
Narrating his experience before he became a popular artist, the Zazoo crooner claimed that he suffered before he had his breakthrough as a musician, especially during the COVID-19 lockdown.
“I suffered because of music. Thank God I have gotten to where I am going. I suffered during COVID-19.There were no shows to attend, no food to eat,” he said.
Portable became popular late last year when his hit track “ZazooZeh”, featuring Olamide and Poco Lee became a street jam. The controversial artist, however, in a video last December accused Poco Lee of claiming the copyright of the song.
Portable said: “Are you mad or something? Na me get Zazoo. You no show love ooo.”
The misunderstanding has since been settled.
