Musicians, Omah Lay and Tems, have finally been released and returned to Nigeria after being arrested in Uganda on Sunday, December 13, 2020, for flouting COVID-19 rules in Uganda after performing in a show.
News of their arrival was shared via a tweet by the chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa. Details from the announcement revealed that both singers arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, today, Thursday, December 17, 2020, by 12:35pm local time.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa also thanked the Nigerian mission in Uganda, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, and the government of Uganda for quick resolution of the case.
