Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, has tested positive for COVID-19 and has moved into self-isolation. Zidane’s health status was revealed by Real Madrid in an official statement on their website: “Real Madrid CF announces that our coach Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for Covid-19.”
The football legend had been on the touchline during Madrid’s shock Copa del Rey elimination to Spanish third tier side, Alcoyano, on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 but is now set to miss out on Saturday’s clash in the Spanish La Liga against Alaves.
Following this development, the Frenchman’s assistant, Davide Bettoni is expected to take over the reigns until he returns in two weeks or less.
