Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, who is fondly called Sunday Igboho, has been reportedly arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
According to reports, Igboho was arrested at an airport in Cotonou, which was about three weeks after he was declared wanted by the Department of State Services for allegedly stockpiling arms.
He was said to have been on his way to Germany.
The Yoruba leader is to be repatriated to Nigeria on Tuesday, July 20 from Cotonou.
A reliable source stated:
“Sunday Igboho has been arrested in Cotonou. He was arrested about an hour ago.
“He was supposed to travel to Germany through Cotonou this night. He wanted to leave Africa through Cotonou. He was arrested by security operatives in Cotonou.
“They are planning to bring him back to Nigeria.”
After the DSS raided Igboho’s Ibadan residence in Soka area on July 1, 2021, the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Customs Service were alerted to stop Igboho from leaving the country.
