Burna Boy was one of the leading celebrity voices during the #EndSARS movement in 2020.
Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy has aimed a dig at the Nigerian government after the panel report on the Lekki toll gate shooting of October 20, 2020 confirmed that security operatives shot and killed peaceful protesters.
The self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’ made a post on Instagram mocking the Nigerian government that has denied the shooting at Lekki on numerous occasions before Monday, November 15, when the judicial panel submitted its report to the Lagos State government.
Burna posted on his Instagram stories on Wednesday: “I just sleep wake see say government nyash open far and wide today. You cannot clean innocent blood with lie Mohammed.’’
It will be recalled that Burna Boy was one of the strong voices during the #EndSARS campaign in October 2020. Following the Lekki Massacre, Burna Boy released a song title “20 10 20’’ which he dedicated to victims of the attack.
Prior the #EndSARS movement in 2020, Burna Boy had been vocal about the poor state of things in Nigeria and called out bad leadership on several occasions with his songs or during interviews.
