Wike lost the PDP presidential primary election to Atiku Abubakar.
The presidential candidate of Nigeria’s Labour Party, Peter Obi, and the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike (PDP) held a closed door meeting today, June 22, 2022.
Though details of the meeting are yet to be disclosed, it has been gathered that the meeting which held in Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State, lasted for several hours. It is still not clear if the meeting was relating to the 2023 presidential election.
Punch Newspaper reported that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has constituted a committee charged with the responsibility of wooing Nyesom Wike and aggrieved members of the party.
It will be recalled that Wike lamented after the party’s presidential primaries that he was betrayed by some party members. Also, it has been alleged that the choice of Atiku to go with Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as running mate has not gone down well with some members of the party.
