The Brazilian winger wants to know his next destination early in other to start pre-season training ahead of the new campaign.
The end of Raphinha’s transfer saga seems to be in sight after the player and his agent Deco gave Barcelona a 48-hour deadline to complete negotiations with Leeds or loose him to Chelsea. Barcelona have matched Chelsea’s offer of £60 million ($72m) for the Brazilian winger despite the club’s financial woes, accelerating the negotiation process with Leeds.
Raphinha has always wanted a move to Barca, his childhood dreams, but Leeds has made it clear that they are only willing to listen to the highest bidder. The English Premier League side has gone on to sign Feyenoord’s Luis Sinisterra as replacement for Raphina as they look to make more money from the deal to facilitate their summer transfer business.
Barcelona’s offer would see them pay in installments as their initial payment is expected to be lower than what Chelsea proposed. Leeds would also get add-ons in the deal if Raphinha hits certain achievements with the European football heavyweights. The key to Barca still being in the race is Raphinha’s insistence on joining the Spanish side.
Leeds is now expected to fully concentrate on negotiations with Barcelona as the club already reached agreements on personal terms with the player in May.
