Chukwueze has promised to do more on the pitch for the Yellow Submarine.
Samuel Chukwueze has won the award for the Best African Player in the Spanish La Liga in 2022–2023.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria forward scored 13 times and registered 11 assists in the 2022–23 league season for Villareal.
It is the highest stat Chukwueze has registered since he joined the Yellow Submarine in 2019.
The Nigerian forward struggled with game time during the start of the season but adapted well when Quique Setien replaced Unai Emery as head coach of the Spanish side.
Setien has brought out the best in the Nigerian star, who is also a key player for his national team.

Chukwueze, 24, has caught the attention of top European sides like Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid, Aston Villa, and a few more, but he looks likely to continue at the Estadio de la Ceramica.
“I feel so happy to win the award. It means I’ve worked so hard to be here. I want to thank my teammates, if not for them, I wouldn’t have won the award,” Chukwueze said after winning the award.
The Nigerian youth ranks product vowed to do more on the pitch as Villareal looks to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2023–24 season.
“This is just little of Samuel Chukwueze, I’m still young, learning and working hard,’’ he continued.
“I still have a lot to give this club. This is just the beginning of Samuel Chukwueze.”
