Adele says she is not ready for a new project.
English singer Adele has revealed plans to take a break from music on November 23, 2024, after wrapping up her Weekends With Adele residency in Las Vegas.
The singer told German media outlet ZDF in an interview that she has no intention of making new music anytime soon.
“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” the Hello crooner said.
“I want a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
In December 2023, the singer told The Hollywood Reporter, “I have nothing to say yet,” when quizzed about making new music.
“I haven’t even thought about it. I have to wait for a feeling. If I get antsy, that’s when I know I have to go to the studio, and I am the opposite of antsy right now.”

In the same interview, she talked about making a movie as one of the creative lines she would love to take.
“The guy whose movie it would be, he’s not mentally ready to write the script for it. I bug him every now and then about it, but he’s just not there yet,” she said.
“But that’s the only role I ever want. Because I think I’d nail it. I think I’d do really, really, really good at it.”
During one of her Weekends shows in January, she told the audience that she does not “think I’m gonna write an album for quite some time.”
