Wike says Fubara is not his adversary/Lionscrib
Wike and Fubara’s relationship has been strained since a power tussle over the control of Rivers State.
Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has clarified that he has no personal conflict with Rivers State’s suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, describing him as his “son.”
This statement came during a BBC Pidgin interview amid widespread rumors of discord between the former political allies.
“That’s not a battle,” Wike explained.
“He is my boy, he is my son. Why would I fight with him?”

Wike elaborated that his political confrontation is not directed at Fubara personally, but rather at those he believes are exploiting the governor for personal gain.
“I’m simply fighting against those attempting to take what they didn’t work for,” Wike stated.
“If you don’t defeat them, they’ll believe they’re in control. Defeat them completely.
“Now they’re embarrassed because they’re losing. They’re the ones manipulating Fubara.”
During a Monday media briefing with selected journalists in Abuja, the former Rivers State governor revealed that Governor Fubara had taken reconciliation initiatives following President Bola Tinubu’s repeated calls for peace.
“The President has repeatedly called for peace, and I cannot ignore the President’s peace calls,” Wike noted.
‘Yes, he (Fubara) arrived with two governors and one elder.
“Unfortunately, both governors are APC members. But I won’t pursue him.
“He expressed desire for peace. That’s acceptable. I want peace too.”
These statements come during escalating political tensions in Rivers State following Governor Fubara’s suspension and ongoing power struggles among key political figures in the state.
