Kim believes there are plans in the US for a military confrontation against North Korea.
In a bid to counter what he termed unprecedented confrontational moves by the United States, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered an immediate acceleration of war preparation from his country’s military, nuclear weapons industry, and munitions industry.
News agency KCNA said Kim issued the order during the meeting of North Korea’s ruling party, the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), as he spoke on the policy directions for 2024.
Kim also hinged on plans to expand relations and strategic cooperation with “anti-imperialist, independent” nations.
North Korea has expanded relations with Russia to the dismay of Washington, which has accused Pyongyang of supplying Russia with military equipment for its war against Ukraine, while Russia has provided technical support for North Korea in its military advancement.

KCNA said Kim “set forth the militant tasks for the People’s Army and the munitions industry, nuclear weapons, and civil defense sectors to further accelerate the war preparations.”
Recall that on Thursday, the president of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, was in Yeoncheon, where he visited a frontline military unit in his country’s eastern county and ordered immediate retaliation if provoked by North Korea.
“I urge you to immediately and firmly crush the enemy’s will for a provocation on the spot,” President Yoon told troops. Kim Jong Un also disclosed economic plans for 2024 during his party’s meeting and said it would be a “decisive year” in the country’s five-year development plan.
