Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai died at the age of 80/UUEA
International evangelist and founder of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association passes away.
Reverend Dr. Uma Ukpai, one of the world’s most renowned evangelists, has died at the age of 80. The announcement was made on his official Instagram page on Monday, confirming that the revered preacher died on October 6, 2025.
The family described him as “a faithful soldier of the cross” who dedicated over six decades of his life to fiery evangelism, dynamic teaching of the Word, and prophetic demonstrations of the power of God.
Ukpai was the founder and president of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA), a non-denominational gospel ministry based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
A global evangelist, teacher, and humanitarian, Ukpai rose from humble beginnings in Ohafia, Abia State, to become a spiritual voice of unity, healing, and faith across Nigeria and beyond.
In the statement titled “With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate the triumphant homegoing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai,” the family expressed their appreciation for the impact he made during his lifetime.

The late evangelist’s ministry touched millions of lives through crusades, healing services, and teaching programs that spanned continents.
