President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed disgust at the coverage of the #EndSARS protest by global media powerhouses, CNN (Cable News Network) and BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation). Both media houses have released video documentaries that revealed how Nigerian military shot at peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate, Lagos State on October 20, 2020.
During a meeting with state governors at the presidential villa on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, Buhari expressed displeasure at the failure of the media houses to report about the killing of police officers and attacks on police stations and prisons across the nation.
I was disgusted by the coverage, which did not give attention to the policemen that were killed, the stations that were burnt, and prisons that were opened. (They said we are all at fault. We don’t have the sympathy of anyone. We are on our own)

President Buhari also warned that his government would not tolerate violent demonstrations in the country because “democracy does not mean confusion or lack of accountability.”
