Peter Obi Says It Is Tough Working With Aisha Yesufu

Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said it is tough working with high profile social and human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, because instead of addressing him as “Your Excellency, they will be arguing with you”.

Obi made this disclosure during an interactive session with Nigerian students in Calabar, Cross River State.

He said:

“It is not easy working with people like Aisha, instead of calling you “Your Excellency” they will be arguing with you but that is what is needed in Nigeria.’’

Aisha Yesufu is a strong supporter of the Peter Obi campaign. It will be recalled that in a tweet in June 2022, the activist endorsed the former Anambra State governor and charged him to stay true to himself.

Yesufu said:

“We need a President and not an emperor and the only person that is going to be “OBEDIENT” or “OBIDIENT” is Peter Obi! Desperation must not make you forfeit your rights! The #OfficeOfTheCitizen remains the highest office in the land!”

Obi during the town-hall meeting in Calabar urged the students not to “ever call education a scam. It is an investment you should be proud of.’’

In his manifesto, Obi noted that he will involve the private sector in his quest to boost the country’s educational system.
