Trump Dismisses Rumours Of Elon Musk Succeeding Him As President

Donald Trump has dismissed rumours that the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, would become president of the United States after Trump completes his second term in office.

Trump was reelected for a second term on November 5, 2024, and is set to be sworn in as the 47^th president of the United States on January 20, 2025.

However, speculations have suggested that Musk, who contributed greatly to Trump’s campaign, would take over the presidency in 2028, but Trump described the rumours as another “hoax” by his political opponents during a speech.

“No, no. That’s not happening. He’s (Elon Musk) not gonna be president,” Trump told supporters.

The 45^th President of the United States jokingly reminded supporters of Musk’s ineligibility to run for the presidency due to his birthplace being South Africa.

“You know why he can’t be (president)? He wasn’t born in this country,” Trump said.

Musk, 53, openly endorsed Trump during his presidential campaign and also contributed an estimated $200 million to a Political Action Committee (PAC) supporting the real estate mogul.

Following his victory at the polls, Trump picked the billionaire entrepreneur to lead the proposed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which Trump is set to create to cut federal spending.

Trump believes Musk is one of several Americans who want the best for the country and has brought the billionaire closer to government since becoming America’s President-Elect.
