President Bola Tinubu has shelved his scheduled visit to Iperu, Ogun State, opting instead to travel to Jos, Plateau State, where he will condole with families of victims killed in the Angwan Rukuba community attack on Palm Sunday, March 30.
The deadly assault by suspected terrorists claimed the lives of over 40 residents, sending shockwaves across the country and drawing widespread condemnation.
In a statement released on Wednesday, April 1, by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President explained his change of plans.

Tinubu had originally been expected in Ogun State on Thursday to commission the Gateway International Cargo Airport, but said standing with grieving families takes priority.
“I have postponed my trip to Iperu, Ogun State,” the Preisdent said.
“My first duty at this moment is to stand with the people of Plateau.
“I will be in Jos to commiserate with families who have lost loved ones and to reaffirm that those who seek to spread fear will not prevail.
“We will continue to strengthen our security response and ensure that justice is done.
“From Plateau, I will proceed to Lagos to observe Good Friday, and then continue with scheduled engagements in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa focused on infrastructure, trade, and economic growth.
“In moments of grief, we must stand together.
“In moments of progress, we must keep building.
“The work continues. Nigeria First.”
