President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to reveal when the ban on social media platform, Twitter, in Nigeria will be lifted. The Nigerian president who is currently in Lagos for commissioning of some projects declined to tell Nigerians of the fate of their Twitter handles when quizzed about it during an interview with Arise TV.
Buhari rather said: ‘’I will keep that to myself,’’ a statement that has not gone down well with millions of Twitter users in the West African nation.
At a time the globe is advancing digitally as well as nations building their democracy, the ban on Twitter is an infringement on the fundamental human right of freedom of speech and must be rescinded.
