I would love to work with Tiwa Savage again Don Jazzy says.
Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has acknowledged that he was hurt when pop star Wande Coal, left his record label. The Bumper to Bumper crooner exited Mavin Records in 2013.
In a podcast tagged ‘Don Jazzy on Afrobeats Podcast 50th Exclusive Edition’, hosted by Olajide Adesope, the record executive admitted to have been deeply hurt by Wande Coal’s choice to leave. He also said Wande did not indicate the motive for his decision.
“Wande Coal is a genius, an amazing vocalist we found at UNILAG (University of Lagos). I was hurt.
“Everyone hurts when a separation happens, whether it was amicable or not. You will hurt whether it was in peace or not in peace.”
Don Jazzy affirmed that he and Tiwa Savage are still friends and would love to work with her, adding that Wande Coal’s departure hurt more than that of Tiwa Savage.
“The Wande Coal exit hurt more. I even came on Twitter to talk about it. I was out of character.’’
Mavin Records is one of the prominent recording labels in Nigeria boasting music talents like Rema, Ayra Starr, Korede Bello, Rekardo Banks etc.
